How to Grow Star Anise From Seeds
Star anise is a spice that is widely used in South East Asian dishes, so if you’ve ever had some type of curry, chances are, you’ve tasted star anise! The name comes from its obvious star appearance and smells and tastes a lot like black licorice. If you’re a fan of exotic dishes, we definitely recommend growing your own star anise

How to Grow Star Anise Plant
The star anise plant can make for a great hedge. In some instances, it is grown as a standalone plant. It does not have any tolerance for frost and therefore, it cannot be grown in the north.

    Growing Anise Plants

Anise seeds are planted directly in the garden in spring. Although seeds can be started indoors, the plants are notoriously difficult to transplant. Although anise grows in a wide range of climates, it requires at least 120 frost-free days in order to produce fully ripe seeds. For this reason, anise is often grown as an annual.
