How to Grow Escarole and Endive
I had to start growing escarole after hearing emotional
tales from my mother-in-law and her sisters about their family’s holiday meals.
Endive and Escarole
Endive and escarole are easy to grow and complement lettuce,
spinach and other greens at farm markets and roadside stands.

Sowing and Planting

autumn either in trays or directly in drills.

cultivar.
Organic Greens, Endive, Frisee
A bushy, leafy green in the Chicory family, this endive has
pale, greenish-yellow, curly leaves with a mild, slightly-bitter flavor for eating
fresh or cooked, and as an accent in salads.
How to Grow: Endive
Amend the soil with compost and sow seeds one inch apart in
rows spaced 18 inches apart.
